| We soon will be posting pictures from our January 2009 hunt, during which we had 11 deer permits. The hunt went better than ever this year with all but one of our hunters scoring. That hunter is part owner of a trophy deer ranch in Utah, and he got a crack at the biggest typical mule deer he had ever seen. He estimated the buck would have netted 205 typical B&C points. Unfortunately, he had to go home after 1 1/2 days but promised he'll be back, saying it was the funnest and best-run hunt he had ever experienced. Even with two bucks in the 170s being killed right off the bat, we ended up averaging 187 B&C points. Our widest buck spread 33 1/2 inches, and the best-scoring buck netted 202 B&C typical points. The price is $10,000 1x1 and $9,000 2x1. We probably will have three or four openings in January 2010. We also have a chance to pick up some additional properties that we have been driving through to reach one of our ranches, and we've been seeing some excellent bucks on those properties. We pick you up in Hermosillo, and you can either use one of our rifles or bring your own. It costs $500 extra to bring your own rifle. You can add Coues deer to a mule deer hunt for $3,500. In 2009 we took two Coues deer and each scored 117 B&C points. One of them had some broken tines, or we estimate he would have scored in the 130s.
